Tour de Purandar

We reached home at 9 pm. “I was exhausted”, yep, but it’s an understatement in case of Saurabh. In spite of his novice driving skills and a sour ankle, he has brought us back home in one piece. Thanks buddy.

We started our journey by getting up at 6am (not me..). A hot refreshing watery chai was indeed refreshing. The biggest surprise was from the girls. They were ready well before expected. And so, we started our journey on time at 8am.  The first stint was excellent, everyone was in a superb mood, singing Marathi, Hindi and Telugu songs, throwing punches at each other.. The kanda pohe and misal pav for breakfast, and a decent wait for strong chai delayed the second stint for a while..

At 11am we reached the divine shrine of Prati Balaji of Narayanpur, the temple was nice, impressive with the cleanliness and the food and water. Then something happened what happens in every Balaji temple. An hour long wait for the darshan and a 2 second view of the idol. And the funny thing is there is not much crowd to experience such hospitality..!

Then begun the real driving test for Saurabh, climbing a 4km stretch on Purandar Ghat (Some of us were mastering bladder control at that moment..). The picturesque was amazing with Hills and Hills around till the eye can see, small check dams and villages here and there, fully grown and half burnt plantations, and surprisingly, rain clouds..! The fort looks destroyed and is not maintained. But I liked the abandoned and destroyed homes with fully grown weed inside them. I liked the fallen, immovable, huge trees.. I liked some youth who volunteered to clean the fort premises.. And I liked the company of my wonderful FRIENDS at that moment..

We sat and drank at the highest point when the wind was blowing hard at us, we sang and danced(what looked like dance), and then, there was a slow-mo run..As always Rahul tried to be a Hero(well, everyone tried at some point) and gave us a scare for a moment, Shital worked on her profile(photos look amazingly deceptive..), Shilpa did the impossible by trekking with ease.. And me…?!  I have tried everything especially dance..!

After having a splendid homemade (dhaba owner’s home) lunch and a bunch of Kismi toffees at 4pm, we arrived at the Bhatghar dam.. We couldn’t go over the dam, so played in the water on the other side  for a while.. I faced one of my worst fears by sitting down on a low bridge where water was rushing at high speeds from the dam gate. I haven’t felt that since the Godavari floods in my SSC (tenth grade).

We started back at dusk and reached pune city in an hour, and it took another hour and half to fight the traffic to reach home.. Overall, the trip was fantastic and my biggest since I fell ill last year.. It was kind of refreshing and I fell in love with the nature yet again..

But one thing was sure… we missed you Madhu.. You would have doubled the fun we had yesterday..

Candle march to support Anna Hazare..

For years and years I have shouted “Jeetega bhai jeetega, India jeetega”... But today I have shouted “Vandemataram” and it felt amazing... I shouted out my patriotism along with a thousand others and boy, what a feeling that is..!! a couple of thousands have marched to support Shri. Anna Hazare, to fight the corruption in India... It felt like the Earth is quaking and the sky is falling when we sang the national anthem together... There were patriots of all age groups... A little girl carried a sign saying “Dear Neta, what is the meaning of Justice?” Hmmm... I didn’t know the meaning either.. In India, it’s getting extinct like the tigers... It’s time to wake up.. It’s time to understand the country in all aspects and take it forward... And when I say country, I mean people... One huge hurdle is Corruption... There are many others.. But let’s take one pill at a time and cleanse ourselves from these diseases...

There were some foreigners who participated in the rally J We should show them that India is a great nation with rich culture and heritage, but not the land of corruption. It’s heart breaking to shout the slogan “Gali Gali pe shor hain, saare neta chor hain” in front of a foreigner.

Finally, I am happy to learn that there is a positive sign from the govt. Of India towards the (jan)lokpal bill, and I am happy I am a part of it. This will definitely encourage me to participate actively.

And I hope the movement shouldn’t die or get side tracked due to IPL..

BTW.. There is a Vijayotsav rally (bike rally) on Sunday starting at 9 am from Kothrud. More details will be on facebook tonight.

Remember guys, if we stand united for a good cause, “Hum honge kamiyaab, Hum honge kamiyaab, Hum honge kamiyaab ek din.. Oho mann mein hai vishwas, pura hai vishwas, Hum honge kamiyaab ek din.”

On the eve of GOD's greatest battle...

India starts the final as favourites. I wonder how they became favourites with such a bowling line up! Surely the batting power is playing the trick. I wish there is one more trick to amaze and please us today. I also wish the Indian bowling line up would silence the critics (well, every single cricket follower) with their extra ordinary efforts, at least for a while. The real question I should ask myself is: how ptimistic and confident should we be?! With Nehra pulling out (Thank GOD.. Oh! I should be saying Thank Sachin ) and Sri Lanka’s ability to tackle the spin, are we left with Sreesanth..?! Or can we strengthen out Batting line up adding Pathan..! Well if Pathan would give an extra 10 runs compared to Sreesanth, he would cover them up with his batting, wouldn’t he..?! Hmm... My guesses haven’t had much success rate so far... Let’s hope Dhoni’s luck stays for another day, and we can rejoice by becoming the champions yet again. But for that the team should keep in mind that “A bird in hand is worth two in the bush”. Don’t lose the course trying to take unnecessary risks.

I pray to my dearest GOD Sachin to help my favourite Cricketer Sachin to score his 100th 100...

Till date, I have bled blue for both India and Sri Lanka... but today............

Hello Blog

So, I’m telling you that....

I don’t know why I haven’t started blogging long back. Every day I sit in the balcony, sometimes with a cup of hot tea and sometimes with a glass of guava juice, pondering about nothing but the apocalypse. But today, for a change I started watching an episode of How I Met Your Mother, and I realised, being such a big Ghazini I wouldn’t be able to narrate my life story to my kids.. True Story... so my blog life has begun immediately...

So guys, sit back and enjoy some decent garbage collection... Before starting any major work, most of the Indians worship Lord Ganesa... I, myself try to write a java class.

public final class ShareefWrites
{
     static
     {
           System.out.println("Hello Blog World..!!");
     }
}

Am I fooling myself by starting blogging on 1st April...!!
